We're not ALL weird you know.

You will be old one day too!

I have been out in the sun today in a sleeveless top and summer skirt and didn't see anyone dressed as you described

Headscarves are quite appropriate to keep the sun off one's head

Protects the brain from becoming addled

Those old folk to whom you refer have probably got more brain cells than you youngsters will ever have!
older people have poorer circulation and often times wear heavy garment to feel warmer
Hahahaha yeah and then you find them saying ';ooo the heat just doesn't agree with me';...but then again do we really want pensioners hobbling around in hot pants and vests...x
It keeps the sun off of their skin. It actually works. The Arabs do the same in the desert.
cos their old and they can feel the 'chill' it goes right to their bones you know *lol*
