What do people dress like who live in Great Britain, and in like Scotland? Is it too cold to wear some things?

What is the temperature like, so as to determine what you might see people wearing for most of the year? What do people dress like who live in Great Britain, and in like Scotland? Is it too cold to wear some things?
Sometimes too hot. Sometimes too cold. Sometimes right. The weather in the UK is more variable than just about anywhere in the world, this is because we get continental weather patterns coming in from Russia and Europe, Arctic weather coming in from the North, and the whole of the British Isles is warmed by the Gulf Stream. The chain of hills which runs down most of England acts as a watershed, and so do the Welsh and Scottish mountains.

People wear normal clothes on nights out, except in Newcastle, where for some reason they wear mini-dresses with bare shoulders, no stockings and T-shirts exposing the mid-riff when the weather is trying to freeze the North Sea.What do people dress like who live in Great Britain, and in like Scotland? Wear whatever you like but remember to dress in layers, the weather will dictate your mode of dress, shorts are not an option in Scotland until June/July/August and even then taking along long slacks/pants is good thinking..ENJOY take a lightweight anorak
Yes, its very cold almost all year round apart from mid May to maybe early July.

People still wear skirts etc even though its cold its not all wooly jumpers and thermal wear, when I say people I mean woman and some Scottish people (though these are called kilts)

To know the temperature just have a look at a weather broadcast for the UK or Scotland and you can decide on what to wear and how much to show.
